Explore how our submarine drone technology has delivered quantifiable results for leading maritime and energy operators worldwide.
North Sea Gas Pipeline — 120km Integrity Survey
Challenge
A major North Sea gas operator needed a full integrity survey of a 120km subsea gas pipeline before winter weather windows closed. Traditional ROV methods would have taken 3+ weeks and required a dedicated survey vessel at $150,000/day.
Solution
We deployed two autonomous submarine drones simultaneously from the operator's existing platform supply vessel. The drones autonomously tracked the pipeline at 2 knots, capturing continuous HD video, multi-beam sonar, and CP readings.
Results
The survey was completed in 5 operational days. Our AI identified 23 anomalies requiring immediate attention, including 4 free spans exceeding allowable limits and 7 areas of significant coating degradation.
VLCC Fleet Inspection — Singapore Anchorage
Challenge
A tanker fleet operator needed hull inspections for 8 VLCCs to satisfy class survey requirements. Drydocking each vessel would cost approximately $800K and require 7 days out of service per ship.
Solution
Our team performed in-water inspections at Singapore anchorage over 12 days. Each vessel was surveyed in 4–6 hours with full hull coverage, including propeller, rudder, sea chests, and ICCP systems.
Results
The operator saved an estimated $4.2M in drydocking costs and 56 days of fleet downtime. All inspection reports were accepted by DNV for intermediate survey compliance.
Gulf of Mexico — Platform Jacket Assessment
Challenge
An aging deepwater platform in the Gulf of Mexico required comprehensive structural assessment to support a $28M life extension campaign. The jacket structure extended to 280 meters depth with complex bracing patterns.
Solution
Our deep-rated submarine drone performed systematic inspection of all jacket members, nodes, and joints from surface to seabed. Real-time 3D modeling created a complete digital twin of the underwater structure.
Results
The 3D structural model became the primary reference for the engineering team's life extension assessment. The inspection identified 12 nodes requiring remedial attention and confirmed the remaining structure was in excellent condition — supporting a 15-year life extension approval.
